We are a strong 8 member technical head working out of our office in Vancouver backed by a team of diligent staff and managers. FRACTAL GEOMETRY
Fractal geometry is a rare example of a technology that reaches into the core of design composition, allowing us as designers to express a complex understanding of natural patterns. By using the principles of mathematics and geometry, we strive in achieving control over rhythm and function, by the use of this relatively new computational tool.
LIGHTING ANALYSIS
Our team includes specialist in design, analysis and application of light as an environmentally sensitive architectural element by the use of softwares such as AGI32, Dialux and Radiance.
GREEN SOLUTIONS
As core architects, we have inculcated the practice of design and quantification in the implementation of passive and active architectural and landscape design from the first sketch itself...
PARAMETRIC MODELLING
The use of parametric softwares such as Processing, Rhino, Grasshopper, Dynamo and other digital plugin tools help in the engineering and construction of well defined structural elements.
SMART MATERIALS AND TECHNOLOGIES
We have in-house expertise in the usage, application and quantification on the advantages and benefits of Smart Material application for Architecture. Along with the University of Reading - UK, we devised a facade assembly for a transient building which regulated the amount of heat and sunlight entering the structure and at the same time generated renewable energy for its needs.
Biomimetics is field of science where we derive tech inspiration from the functioning models of nature for technological advancements. Our research at the University of Reading - UK, looked into the integration of Photovoltaic panels embeded over Photo-chromic membrane plated with a highly absorptive film inspired by the Moth's eye.
BIOMIMETICS
We believe in a three stage process - (R)esearch, (D)esign and (A)nalyse. By having a team which is well-versed in various softwares & with each member having an expertise is a specialized field of science, our RDA process is a design iteration process until we find an optimum solution.
RESEARCH DESIGN ANALYSE
As part of the overall design and analyse process, we use softwares such as IESve to do life cycle costing and capital costing for all design iterations to give a clear picture of capital cost to running cost to disposal and renewal cost.
COST ANALYSIS
IESve is also used to compute the embodied carbon, the maintainance and operation emissions to draw a clear understanding of the overall Carbon foot-print of the building.
CARBON EQUATION
Sustainability is always the fore-front of everything we do. Ensuring the longevity of our design to perform at its optimum for the purpose it was built is always the platform on which our design decision are based on.
